Furry Freefall: Cat Takes 30-Foot Tumble, Lives

Carlisle Cat's Miraculous Survival: A Three-Storey Fall and a Second Chance

George, a curious and adventurous cat from Carlisle, has defied the odds after surviving a terrifying fall from a three-storey high tree. The beloved pet of radiographer Kate Riley, George plunged to the ground as rescuers tried to reach him, leaving everyone involved in a state of shock. Against all expectations, vets found that George had suffered only minor injuries, including a split roof of his mouth. His owner, Kate, described the incident as a "miracle," saying, "I was calling and calling him, and he wouldn't come back. I was so worried." George's escapade began when he slipped out of the house while Kate was going to work. Despite being an indoor cat, he managed to climb a tree estimated to be over 30 feet high. Rescuers tried to reach him, but George retreated to the top, forcing them to leave him overnight.

The next day, a tree surgeon attempted to bring George down, but the frightened cat fell, landing on his back. Witnesses thought he was dead, but George stood up, stunned, and was rushed to the Paragon Veterinary Group.

Vet Graham Lewis and head veterinary nurse Karen MacDonald treated George's injuries, and after surgery, he made a quick recovery. Graham said, "George must have used up more than one of his nine lives! We were delighted he didn't have more extensive injuries
